A score you can act on
Every company is banded A to E on how likely it is to become a real trading business, from a model trained on companies whose outcomes are now known. Band A trades about 60% of the time; band E, under 10%. How, and how well.
What it actually is
SIC codes are wrong or generic a third of the time. We read the name, codes and website together and give you a plain-English line — and separate operating businesses from property vehicles, holding companies and shelf companies.
A route that has been checked
The company's own website, fetched and verified as theirs; the generic mailbox on it; the registered food premises with its trading address; and a flag for the ones already registered at an accountancy firm. No director names, no home addresses.

Why fewer leads beats more
Most firms that work Companies House data write to every new company in their area. Put your own numbers in.
£2 is a second-class stamp (91p), paper and envelope (about 25p) and four minutes of someone's time at £15 an hour. A mailing house does it for about 70p a letter — but you still pay for every wasted one.

What do I actually receive?
An email every Monday with the ranked list for your council and a spreadsheet attached. The sample week shows a real one, row by row, with what every column means.
What does it cost?
The Formation Index — weekly numbers and company names for every council — is free. The ranked list with verified contacts is £29 a month per council — founding price, locked for twelve months (£49 standard); two weeks free, cancel any time. Where does the data come from?
Companies House (bulk data and API, Open Government Licence), the ONS Postcode Directory, the Food Standards Agency's premises register, the ICO register of fee payers, public DNS and each company's own public website. Nothing is bought from brokers.
Is there personal data in it?
No more than is on the public register, and less: director names, dates of birth and addresses are deliberately left out. You get company-level facts, a score and a generic business mailbox where the company publishes one.
How accurate is the score?
On companies the model has never seen, band A trades about 60% of the time and band E about 9%, against a base rate of 37.5% in that test cohort. It is a ranking, not a guarantee — which is why we show bands rather than a yes/no. The full method and results.
Is it legal to contact these companies?
Business-to-business email to a limited company or LLP is permitted under PECR without prior consent, provided you say who you are and offer an opt-out. Every row says where the address came from. No director names, no home addresses.
